So we have landed in PARIS!! That flight was horrible! Everyone was
all packed together with no leg room.. But its not like we have room
to complain though because we are in freaking paris! Youhave know idea
how excited we are! We are very lucky to be able to go on this
adventure at such a young age! Bunny and pam (our leaders) are great!
Hopefully our first day will be unforgetable! Ohh and these posts may
not have been posted when the time says it was because its just when
ever we have an internet connection so you may get several at a time
that were actually written hours apart..

happy 4th of july guys:) we are now in austria and today we went and saw the concentration camp.. it was sad but informative.. but then we got to go to a ammusement park! it was so much fun! and on the way back to the hotel we saw yet another gay parade... but anyway yesterday we were in salzburg after leaving our homestays:( but not sure if we let you know yet but thursday we had a disco party with our swiss friends! it was so much fun but ended to early because they still had one day of school left..

soo i know that we havent posted anything in a while and that is just because we are super busy and the whole issues with the key boards (but now in switzerland the onlz difference is that the y and z are switched!!) lets see.. saturday we went on a tour of paris with our guide sophie (sp??) then off to the louvre and we got to see the mona lisa! the art inside the louvre is from many the differnt centuries throughout history.. afterwards we went to the basilique de sacre coeur and saw the famous art center (where we got a drawing together! it turned out amazing!) on sunday we went to a parfum museum and then climed the eiffel tower (well honestly we rode the elevator and then took the stairs down!) its weird because we left for paris the day that michael jackson died and it wasnt that big of a deal but then you get to paris and he is like a god.. when we were leaving the eiffel tower there were swarms of people celebrating him.. anyway we then walked to the champs elysees (which by the way is said way different than it reads..) on monday we drove to strasburg and just explored the town a little bit.. on tuesday it was off to switzerland with a stop in lucerne before meeting our home-stay families in sargans.. on wednesday we drove over to a near by country (liechenstein) and hiked 7 miles on a mountain.. it took 4 1/2 hours!! and today we visited a fortress from WWII and then played soccer with our home stay families.. and we are leaving for a disco partz in about an hour since tonight will be our last night with them because tomorrow we leave for austria... we will try to post more soon

today was our first day in paris! we had duck for lunch then travelled to the versailles.. we are now trying to figure out the different keyboards in france! tomorrow we will tour paris and visit the louvre..

we leave in a day and a half!!

soo we leave tomorrow afternoon! this is pretty much the schedule for our hectic day on thursday:
11:30 arrive at airport
12-1 go through security
1:30 maybe find some lunch and relax for like 5 minutes!
1:45 board the plane
2:05 depart for dallas
3:00 land in dallas
4:00 relax a little more
5:10 leave for paris!!!
then arrive in paris at 9:40 a.m. (paris time) on friday..
hopefully we will get to sit together for that terribly long flight to paris! but if not it will be okay because we have 19 days to have the time of our lives!
we are going to try and post as much as possible but arent promising anything.. sorry but we dont know when we will have internet and when we wont.. so please just be understanding:)

- Welcome to Europe! After arrival at the airport your Delegation Manager and coach
driver will greet you!
- Explore the magnificent Chateau de Versailles, a UNESCO World Heritage site, on
your own. Built during the reign of Louis XIV, the Sun King, it was the seat of the royal
court from 1682 to 1789, when the French Revolution put an end to the monarchy.
SATURDAY, JUNE 27
Paris, France
- Voila Paris! A French guide will now join you for an orientation of the city Ernest
Hemingway called "a moveable feast."
- Enjoy a guided exploration of one of the most important art collections in the world, the
famous Musee du Louvre. You will visit the principal parts of the museum - including a
look at Leonardo's masterpiece, Mona Lisa.
-Visit the historic Montmartre area, a haven for artists and writers before WWI. Marvel at
the white Basilique du Sacre Coeur, which is the second highest point in Paris. Take
some time to discover this area's treasures in small groups.
SUNDAY, JUNE 28

- Attend an educational meeting in the famous Musée du Parfum Fragonard, where you
will discover the fabulous world of perfume!
- Admire a dazzling view of Paris! There's only one place to go: take the elevator up to
the top of the Eiffel Tower (899 feet) which was built for the 1889 World's Fair to
commemorate the French Revolution.
- Take some time together to learn about your upcoming home stay. Ask questions and
set expectations for the days with your home stay families.

- Welcome to school! You will spend the afternoon inside the school with French
students!
- The college Joliot-Curie of Dieulouard wishes you a healthy appetite! You will enjoy a
typical meal from this region with French students!
- Discover the old town of Strasbourg, the charm of its typical timbered houses and its
famous cathedral.
TUESDAY, JUNE 30

- Discover Lucerne, a city in the heart of Switzerland situated on a lake and surrounded
by high mountains!

- Today will be spent with your home stay family experiencing European home life.

- Today will be the last day you spend with your home stay family. Be sure to write a
thank you note and leave it with your home stay family or mail it to them the next day!
FRIDAY, JULY 3
Salzburg, Austria
- Lunch will be at the tourism school "Villa Blanka" in Innsbruck, where you will join an
Educational Meeting about the Austrian Tourism School system and have the
opportunity to try your hand at baking your own dessert - the famous Austrian
Apfelstrudel!
- Now you will have the opportunity to investigate Salzburg during a guided orientation
tour and undercover its many treasures.
- Tonight enjoy a classical concert at the famous Schloss Mirabell.
SATURDAY, JULY 4
Vienna, Austria
- Experience a darker aspect of European History when you visit the infamous
Mauthausen Concentration Camp. Learn about the true nature of these camps as you
delve into Mauthausen's terrible past.
- Enjoy the Prater Amusement park where James Bond had an adventurous ride on the
giant Riesenrad (the second largest Ferries wheel in the world) in 1987's "The Living
Daylights". If you like, enjoy yourself on a ride with the famous Ferries wheel!
SUNDAY, JULY 5
Vienna, Austria
- Explore Vienna by going on a guided bike tour and discover all the beautiful sights!
- You will meet and take part in a discussion with a survivor of a concentration camp
(Theresienstadt). This is a unique opportunity and a true honor for student
ambassadors.
MONDAY, JULY 6
Friesach, Austria
- Enjoy the medieval games - you'll be surprised!
- This evening you will have an unforgettable dinner and enjoy rousing games in the
small castle-town Friesach.
TUESDAY, JULY 7
Jesolo, Italy
- Be welcomed by the residents and town officials of Sirnitz, who call their village the
"Official People to People Town of Carinthia".
- Enjoy a unique cultural experience and discover the impressive life of the Austrian
mountain farmers. Learn about their everyday life, their work and how they spend their
leisure time, e.g. how to milk a cow. Afterwards enjoy a local meal.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 8
Jesolo, Italy
- Enjoy one of life's greatest pleasures and take a ride in a gondola. While passing
"Canale Grande" and narrow channels you will see the famous Guggenheim Museum,
the "Fenice Theater," and Mozart's Venice Residence.

- Get inspired by some of the best examples of Romanesque architecture in Italy when
travelling to Pisa. You will see one of the most famous buildings in Europe; the Leaning
Tower.

- Continue with a city exploration by way of a Riddle Rally including Piazza Navona, the
Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. Bring some coins - tossing a coin

- Today you will visit the capital of Catholicism and the world's smallest state, the
Vatican! Admire St. Peter's cathedral, including Michelangelo's glorious Pieta and the

So we are leaving for EUROPE soon! We can’t wait! This is going to be an unbelievable experience! We get to explore Europe not as the average tourist but as a People to People Student Ambassador! ((for information on People to People check out www.peopletopeople.com)) Student Ambassadors get to explore the world in a different way and we are going to love every minute of it! Our journey starts when we land in PARIS! After exploring France, we head to Switzerland then off to Austria.. And sadly after 19 days we depart from Italy. Only 15 more days and counting:]
